Syrup for a Samaritan
In a departure from my usual political blogging, I give you this story from the Toronto Star. As thanks for his good deed of giving a spare ski pole to Olympic cross-country skier Sara Renner during her silver-medal winning race, Norwegian ski coach Bjoernar Haakensmoen was presented with 5.2 tons of maple syrup, donated by Canadians! Ocer 7,400 cans were collected at 300 Bell Canada outlets.
That's a heck of a lot of syrup, I must say! Frankly, it's probably worth more than the Canadian government spends to support Sara Renner's training. Maybe this is part of a cunning plan to create a new export market for Canada... Recommend this Post
